Blues Blast!

On Friday night, September 14th, make sure to bring the whole family to Thomas Point Beach and attend the Great State of Maine Air Show Blues Blast. There will be music and entertainment for all ages and a chance to meet the men and women of the U.S. Navy Blue Angels Flight Demonstration Team! The event will begin at 6:00 p.m. with a free concert by the Navy Band Newport's Rhode Island Sound, as they entertain with a refreshing blend of rock-n roll music that includes 70's, 80's, 90's & today's hits. Made up of some of the Navy's most versatile musicians, their performance presents a diverse, high energy show that will entertain guest of all ages. When the sun sets, there will be a Super Hornet afterburner flyover to kick-off the official portion of the show, immediately followed by U.S. Army Golden Knights team parachute jumps into the park. Once the jump teams have been presented to the crowd, the U.S. Navy Blue Angels will take the stage to introduce the 2007 Blue Angel team. Rhode Island Sound will then provide music and entertainment until the event's conclusion at 10 p.m. This is a free event and parking is available at the site.
