Each year the Commander, Navy Region Mid-Atlantic and the Commanding Officer, Naval Air Station Brunswick host the annual Great State of Maine Air Show. This popular event offers amazing performances by flying performance teams such as the US Navy Blue Angels, US Arm Golden Knights, Team Chaos, and other entertaining shows put on by people such as Patty Wagstaff, John Mohr, Dan Buchanan, and much more. There is also a Megasaurus show, which features a fire-breathing dinosaur, a Dragon vs Viper show, and Pyro by Tora Tora Tora.

This event often takes place on a Friday and Saturday sometime during the fall. The Army Virtual Experience is another attraction that is offered at the air show. While watching the air performances, tickets can be bought for reserved seating areas as well as the Executive Squadron Chalet party tent area. Various military aircraft are also on display for visitors, who will also have the ability to meet with many of the performers and recognized military personnel.
